SYNTHESE VON BIS-BROMMETHYLSELENID

Abstract

The reaction of bromine with oligomeric or polymeric selenoformaldehydes leads to the formation of bis-bromomethyl selenide. Addition of more bromine to this compound leads to a crystalline adduct and furthermore to the formation of selenium, dibromethane and selenium tetrabromide.
